S(n)o(w) this week....

Well, it finally happened!!!  I was beside myself with excitement all day Thursday!  And when it finally started...awesome!!!  It hasn't snowed here since Christmas, 2010...and then on Thursday night...Thundersnow!  There was lightening and thunder....and SNOW!

Hubby and I took a stroll through our neighborhood in full cold weather gear.  The snow fell in huge flakes and, when it hit us, the flakes would explode...like snowballs.

The only down side (only a minor thing) was that we lost power from Thursday night until mid-day on Friday.  It wasn't being without lights or electricity or even the water (we have a well)...it was being without heat!  It took a while to get back to feeling warm...but it was worth it seeing the snow.

In the Quilt Room today, I stitched out these designs with my embroidery machine.  These lovelies will become mug rugs eventually.  Hopefully, sooner rather than later.  I had intentions of making Dresdens with these but decided to go a different route....with the Dresden part.

And then I worked on my curved pieced block for my Craftsy BOM.  I was quite impressed that I could actually sew curves.  I pinned a lot and I think that helped...along with going really, really slow.

There is another curved pieced block for the Craftsy BOM which I hope to tackle during the coming week.

This past week, I also attended our monthly meeting for the Studio Stitch BOM.  It would be great to get those blocks done this week too so that I can focus on my UFO list.

AND...beginning this week...

As always...a big thank you to Madame Samm of Sew We Quilt! for all she does...as well as our blog hop cheerleader, Christine of Quilt Monster in My Closet for all the hard work of coordinating the hop.

There are over 100 ladies participating and I am certain that there will be no shortage of inspiration.  So, I will see you back here on Thursday as we kick off the Dare to Dresden Blog Hop.

Till then...
