My favorite time of the year is the Holiday season. I love the decorating, the cooking and having family and friends fill our home with laughter. Family and friends hold a special place in my heart especially at Christmas time.
So when the In Your Words came along, I knew that I wanted to do something on Christmas. I asked my Hubby and Daughter to help me list words that represent the feeling of Christmas and family to them...added a quote from Charles Dickens...and created a quilt top that can become part of our family traditions. It has a sweet reminder that Christmas should be part of the everyday.
I used the Blitzen by Basic Grey along with Kona off-white.
I love the star effect of the string pieced blocks. While there is a scrappy look to the piecing, I tried to maintain a certain color sequence which I think gives the blocks an almost kaleidoscope effect.
I machine embroidered the quote and our words along with snow flakes using colors from the line of fabric.
Thank you, again, for stopping by. While you are here, I hope you will look around and leave a comment or two.
And visit again soon.
Till then...
~~Quilt Much!
