Nine Days Until Christmas....but I'm not ready!

Can you believe how close Christmas is?  What happened to the extra week I thought I had because Thanksgiving came so early this year?  There is still so much to be done...thankfully progress was made this weekend.

For my lovely Daughter...a door decoration for her apartment...Ms. Snowman.    Ms. Snowman is ready to hit the town...she is all dressed up with her diamond ring, bracelet...and matching scarf and hat.  I had a lot of fun with this and I hope that my lovely Daughter enjoys it too!

I also completed another scarf...this time for my Daughter's roommate as a Christmas present.  I didn't manage to get a picture before we wrapped it up and put it under the tree.  No peeking till Christmas!

You may remember that a friend entrusted me with some feedsacks that belonged to his grandmother.  He wanted me to make two for his Mom and one for him.  He wanted something more modern with a "nod" to the traditional and off I went (via the internet) to discover the perfect design for him.  I came across with this book...

I was leaning towards a Dresden plate design on black from the book...but as he was flipping through he came across this...

It is a great design for showcasing the feedsacks.

I have one pillow top ready to quilt and the other pillow top cut and partially sewn.  Here is the first one...ready to quilt.

I am going to use an off white...stitch in the ditch...around the feedsack diamonds and black along the strips.  I can't wait to see how it turns out.  And this isn't a little pillow either...27" square.  I hope he loves it.

And since this is a Christmas present...I have to finish it in the next day or so.

Then there is the planning, buying and cooking for the Christmas party on presents to buy and wrap for the party.  Then there really don't want to know!!  It is exhausting just thinking about it.  One day at a time, right?

Wishing you and your family A Very Merry Christmas!

Till then...

~~Quilt Much!
