What a busy week! Work is busy...shopping is busy...cleaning and planning for Christmas is busy...not so busy in the Quilt Room.
Yesterday, Hubby and I made a quick trip to the mountains. Up through West Jefferson, Warrensville and through Lansing....so many beautiful sights. A drive along Helton Creek back to West Jefferson...some lunch...a bit of shopping. Then home.
I am not that old! This is my disclaimer. (snicker)
Not that long ago...when I was younger...I lived in a city where the customer (by city law) wasn't allowed to pump their own gas. There was a gentleman, wearing a uniform with one of the change clickers on his belt, he would walk to your car window and ask "how much?". I don't remember the price per gallon then but I imagine it was pretty inexpensive compared to today's prices. And the gas was pumped from pumps like these!
I didn't have to pump gas until I moved away from my hometown. By that point...you could pay at the pump.
Why do I reminisce, you ask? Well, since you asked. Saturday while we were driving through the mountains...our car needed gas...yelled at us and everything. So we pulled into the only gas station on the other side of Lansing and there were these pumps. Look...they are still shiny and clean. Thankfully, Hubby pumped the gas...otherwise we might have been in a world of trouble. The amount and gallon counter had to be manually reset to zero!
What a wonderful day!
I didn't get a
lot much of anything done in the Quilt Room this week. I am, however, happy to report that I am caught up on the Studio Stitch BOM. Here are pics of the most recent two blocks. Read about the Studio Stitch BOM here.
On our trips to the mountains, I try to do a little knitting or crocheting while we are on the main roads...the ones that are straight and somewhat level. Here is Esmeralda modeling my most recent scarf finish.
This week looks to be a busy one as well but I am hoping to get something done in the Quilt Room before the weekend! And I have to stop adding to my list of UFOs!! which currently includes ~~Two pillows for a friend; In Your Words Blog Hop coming in January; Craftsy BOM; Grandmother's Choice BOW; Christmas Aprons (would love to have these ready when my Daughter comes to help bake cookies) and, oh, about 20 or so other projects!! Hopefully I will have lots of success to report next weekend.
