Welcome Fall!!!

Fall is a busy time of year around here.  There is a family reunion, trips to the mountains, a Halloween party, maybe a festival or two and the best of all...the Dixie Classic Fair.

We have been going to this fair for 18 years....since Daughter was a little thing.  We always go with Dear Friend and her family and anyone else we can scare up. This year, Hubby's sister and niece joined us too. YAY!  We had a fabulous time.  We ate a ton of fair food (roasted corn, candy apples, funnel cake, kettle corn, cotton candy to name a few) and for those who are willing (not me, oh no!)... rides.  There are bunches of exhibits...too many to visit in a single day but we try to hit a couple of those.  We visit the animals and Yesterday Village as well.

When Daughter was little, our favorite ride was the tall slide.  I loved riding that with her.  We would laugh and laugh all the way down!  There was a time or two that we had the ride attendant laughing along with time the ride attendant had to move the gate out of the way of Dear Friend and Daughter when they kept going past the end of the slide! They must have used extra polish that day!  ._.  The memory still makes me chuckle.

Now Daughter enjoys rides like Top Spin.  Only Dear Friend is crazy brave enough to ride it with her.

Today, Fall appeared in earnest.  Cooler temps are here for a couple days.  Today's high was only 52.  By the end of the week, though, temps will be back up.

So what have I been up to in the quilt room?  This past week I managed to get a little time in the quilt room...and today, while Hubby was watching football...I finished up two more Craftsy BOMs. Whoohoo!!!

Here is the Craftsy July Blocks, Traditional Dresden Plate block...

And Modern Dresden Wheel block...

The Modern Dresden Wheel block is Hubby's favorite this week.  I chose to make the center out of the print fabric instead of the background fabric and I did the applique with the blanket stitch instead of the zigzag stitch.  I really love how it turned out.

Next weekend, I need to complete my two blocks for the Studio Stitch BOM meeting...which they said would be much easier than last months, thankfully.  See last month's blocks here.

I also need to get a serious amount of work done on my Wicked block for the Blog Hop starting on October 22 hosted by Wendy at Why-Not-Kwilt and Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt.

Whew...I better get busy!  As always, I hope to find some time in the quilt room during the week so I can wrap things up on Sunday.  Hopefully!

'Til then...
