What a great weekend! I was able to leave work at a reasonable time Friday. Hubby went to a football game so I spent the evening in the quilt room. I was somewhat amazed at how much I was able to accomplish.
The goal for this weekend was to work on the Craftsy BOM. I am still trying to get caught up. Hopefully, I can get caught up through September before the October block is revealed.
I am about 85% complete with one of the April blocks on English paper piecing...but I had to order some additional sizes of the pre-cut paper pieces before I can get started on the second one. I placed the order on Thursday night so they should arrive some time this week. Crossing my fingers. I have the fabric cut and ready for when they arrive.
Well, I needed something to show today so I skipped April and worked on the May blocks. They were kind of fun....not a lot of stress with making sure everything was absolutely, positively perfect.
Here is my Modern Log Cabin Block. I don't know why, but I love the orange and hot pink plaid in the middle. I really do!
While I was giving this block a good pressing for the pic...I remembered that I had a UFO of Log Cabin blocks. Numerous years ago, I took a class on Quilt as You Go Log Cabin Quilt...but because "life happens", I wasn't able to complete the class or the quilt. So I dug one of the blocks out of the closet and took a look. I had forgotten how pretty it is. Perhaps I will drag the whole box out and add that to the quilts I would like to finish sooner rather than later.... Is that a separate list? UFO Priority to Complete!
Here is a pic of that block. Isn't it pretty?
Saturday, time in the quilt room was spent working on the Craftsy English paper piecing blocks. I think I will try another project with the hexagons now that I have had a chance to work with them. Isn't that what the BOMs are for? Trying something new.
Today, I worked on my Wicked submission for the Wicked Blog Hop hosted by Wendy at Why Knot? and Madame Samm at Sew WE Quilt coming in October. And I spent more time on paper piecing.
So tell me...what would you put on your UFO Priority to Complete! List?
I am hopeful I can get back into the quilt room this week and continue this trend of getting things done.
